Turkey provides state support for the purchase of pregnant heifers

As part of the “Support to Livestock for Rural Prosperity” project established in Turkey, it was announced that the price of pregnant heifers of beef breeds was set at 105,000 Turkish liras per animal (over US$ 2,500), excluding VAT, according to Turkish media. A 1% VAT will be applied to this value. Beneficiary producers may choose to pay in cash or through financing via Ziraat Bank. The price in the Bursa market last week was 176,500 Turkish liras, so the subsidy amounts to 40%.
